It was Friday, October 13th, 1307, the pope was Clement,and King Phillip of France.
King Phillip owed the Knights Templar a great deal of money from loans he'd taken out. There were rumors that the the Templars had a huge treasure At thei main comanderie at Paris, and King Phillip was a greedy. He sent sealed orders throughout France to be opened on the morning of Friday October 13th 1307. the orders commanded the arrest of all Knights Templar, and the seizure of all their property. It was all done on trumped up charges.
In fact there is documentation that the Templars were later absolved of all the charges against them, though it was too late for them. a very large number were executed, and the grand master of the order was publically burned at the stake
ANOTHER BELIEVE:
The number 13 has been shrouded in mystery for hundreds of years and believe this stems from the ancient Egyptians where they believed your life had 13 stages, 12 which were living stages and then the 13th, the afterlife. 13 in essence symbolized death.
ANOTHER BELEIVE:
th usually 12 is considered a perfect number, a magic number, a complete number, and 13=12+1. In most mythologies (and also in the Bible) when there are 13 persons at a table one has evil thoughts (Judas, Loki...and the lists goes on)
Friday was chosen because it appears many bad things happened Friday, and also this combination Friday 13 seemed to be rather rare. So this is the answer.
ANALYSING:
its something that's always brought to peoples attention we automatically think it will be a bad day and so it ends up that way. If you go around thinking negative people pick up on it etc
